The complex jumble of buildings in the City of London is the subject of this painting. In the distance the Thames peeps between Tower Bridge and the Shard. Dominating the centre is the iconic form of 30 St Mary Axe (known as the Gherkin) next door the tall red crane marks the location of new building which rejuvenates the district. Far below workmen in Hi-Vis jackets are dwarfed by their surroundings.
